Registration is fast, easy, secure, and free.
If you have a valid email account and are over the age of 18, simply click the Register icon at the top of your screen (and or) at the bottom of your screen, complete the basic user information form, and hit the submit button.
Once your submission has been processed, you will instantly be emailed an account verification notice.
This email will contain an account activation link. Click on the link in the email (or cut and paste it into your browser) and your account will then be activated. If you did not receive an activation email, you will need to login to your account with the created user id and password.
The system will inform you that your account is not active. You can request to have the email resend to the email address you signed up with or to a new email address.
Your account will remain inactive until you click the link in the activation email. Go to the Forgot My Password and/or Username section of SellBidandBuy. There you will be able to retrieve your password and/or your username by providing your username and/or email address. You will then be sent an email that will contain step by step instructions on how to resolve your password problems. The benefits of registration are many:
- Without a registration, you will not be able to actively participate in all that our service has to offer.
- A valid registration is required if you wish to buy, sell, or trade on SellBidandBuy.
Registering with SellBidandBuy is fast, easy, free, and secure! Accounts can be suspended for the following reasons:
- Contact info is invalid
- A complaint from a buyer/seller was submitted and the buyer/seller neglected to respond to SellBidandBuy admin email. The buyer/seller usually has up to 7 days to reply to our requests for information. Failure to reply after the 7th day will result in account suspension.
- Bidding on items without paying.
- Violations of our listing policies, spam, illegal items, links in auctions, etc..
- Reaching your $20 Maximum debit amount - to reactivate the account member is required to pay the debit amount, which is the fee accumulated from selling on our site.
NOTE: Members who are suspended are prohibited from registering new accounts, bidding or selling on SellBidandBuy using any other existing accounts. SellBidandBuy reserves the right to suspend existing accounts as well as new accounts opened by anyone in the same household of a suspended user or by any other associates of a suspended user. It is accepted that a member may wish to have more than one SellBidandBuy account, but any transaction, bidding or feedback activity between the accounts is not allowed. SellBidandBuy will investigate any reported activity between these accounts. Sellers found to be bidding on their own auctions will receive an official warning which may lead to their removal from the website. Members may wish to have more than one account for a number of reasons. For example they may wish to separate different parts of their SellBidandBuy business. One account for buying and one for selling. Maybe an account for business use and one for private use etc. Please note: Each SellBidandbuy account must have a unique email address. Multiple accounts cannot be opened under the same email address.
By default you will receive emails from SellBidandBuy when a number of things occur on the site. If you would prefer to not be notified, simply log into your account and go to the Members Area. In the left hand column under "My Account" there is an entry "Mail Preferences". Here you can select the emails you will or will not receive. To list an item do the following:
- Login to your account.
- click on the SELL tab on the top main menu.
- you will be redirected to the listing form.
- Fill up all required info.
Note: Make sure you enter enough info in the item description, for example:
- Item description: Brand name. Detailed specifications.
- Item condition : New/Used/Refurbished.
- Never post an item without a current PICTURE.
- Items with poor description and no Pictures are hardly ever sold.
To sell an item in Your Store without running an auction
- Select the "Sell" tab in the top menu.
- Select the "Shop" radio button and click "Next Step"
- Select the category of your choice and click "Next Step"
- From the Choose Listing Type drop down menu select "Buy Out Item"
- Title and describe your listing and click "Next Step"

Select your "Auction Type, "Currency", "Quantity", "Buy Out price", "Listing Features", "Start Time", and "Duration" etc.

Select Item condition.
- Browse to a suitable image on your hard drive and click "Upload".
- Select "Enable auto relist" if you wish to relist the item when your duration has run out.
- If you have more than one quantity of the item enable Auto Relist if Sold".
- Edit your location if required and click "Next Step"
- Adjust Shipping setting to suit and select Payment method, the click "Next Step"
- Click "List Now" or "Save as Draft" according to your requirements.
If you select "List Now" the listing will appear in your shop. If you select "Save as Draft" you can activate the listing at a later time. You can create an auction from this draft at any time by listing it from the "Drafts" page in the "Selling" section. If you have found an item you would like to place a bid on, you can do so quickly and easily by following these steps:
- Login to your account. If you don't have an account yet, you will need to register then get verified, the whole process will take about 5 minutes.
- Visit the auction page you are interested in purchasing.
- Bids: Just below the gallery image towards the top of the auction page will be a "place bid" box (if there is not a bid box, then the auction is a "Buy Out" or "Buy Now" only auction).
- Enter in your bid and click on the “place bid” button.
- You will then be asked to confirm you bid, once you have done so your bid will be entered, if successful you will receive a confirmation message.
- If you bid fails to outbid the current high bidder you will be offered the option to place a higher bid.
Buy Now: If a seller designates a "buy out" price, you will see this option just above the auction description. Buy Out prices are set by the seller, if you agree with that price, you can click on the “buy out” button and proceed with your purchase. After clicking on the "buy out" button you will be re-directed to a confirmation page. After clicking the "proceed" button, you are now obligated to purchase this item at the designated price listed. Yes, return to the auction page and place your new higher bid. If you are the current highest bidder and you return to increase your maximum bid, the system will not raise your auction current bid, but will only increase your proxy bid. The online auction accepts your 'Maximum Bid' as a Proxy Bid, then places a bid on your behalf at the lowest amount required to make you the leading bidder. For example, if the current leading bid is $100 and you place a maximum Secret Bid of $150, the online auction system will place a bid of $105 on your behalf, assuming the bidding increments for the auction are $5.00. If another bidder has bid a amount higher than the current price, when you bid it will automatically raise the bid amount over the other bidder's bid. In a case where the other bidder has bid more than you, the bid will reflect the bid you have entered as your highest proxy bid. You may either go to your Members area and select "Bidding" which will show you all items you are bidding on; or (providing you have set your " Email Preferences") you will receive an email informing you that you have been out bid. If there is still enough time left before the auction ends, you can return to the auction page and bid again. Yes you can! As long as the auction has not ended and has more than twelve (12) hours until it finishes. Retracting your bid will retract all your bids, not only the latest/highest one. To retract your bid:
- Log in
- Go to your Bidding page, you will see the auction link for the item you have bid(s) on, beside each link is a "Retract" link.
- Just click that link.
You must have a valid reason to retract a bid once placed. Retractions of bids is logged by SellBidandBuy and recurring use of this featurewill result in the Member being banned. The auction pages give you the option of using a "Printer Friendly Page".
Click the link which is on the top right of the main body of the page to "View Printer Friendly Page". This will open a new window that will remove any parts of the page which are not required, and also removes the background colour to save on ink/toner usage.
Right click on this page and select "Print". To contact a Seller, click the item you are interested in. On the right hand side of the listing under "Meet the Seller" click on "Ask Seller a Question". If you have won an item, to Contact the seller do the following:
- Login to your account.
- From the Members area, click on the Won Items link.
- Click on the View won items Details link at the top of the page.
- From within this area access the Message Board.
- You can use this area to communicate directly with the Seller regarding payment instructions, shipping, etc.
We at SellBidandBuy do our best to keep such sellers off our site, but this problem does arise occasionally. We recommend that you use our "Dispute Console" - available by logging in to your "Members Area" and clicking on the item towards the bottom of the left hand column. Be sure to include auction number(s), sellers username, date and method of payment, and any other information that would assist us in our investigation. We will do our best to find a resolution for you, but there is no way for us to recoup funds for you, or guarantee you any specific results. We ask that you use "safe" payment methods when making purchases from buyers you are not familiar with. When we say "safe", we are referring to payments through Paypal or Credit Card methods, as you have the chargeback process available for such issues. We strongly recommend that you do not use cash, money orders, cheques, or bank transfers to pay sellers you are not familiar with, or sellers that have limited feedback ratings. These payment methods leave little or no recourse for the buyer, in regards to recouping funds paid to the seller. We will thoroughly investigate all such claims, and then take appropriate action against seller's accounts that are not in compliance. We will also take steps to prevent them from signing up to sell on the site again. We suggest filing complaints with the appropriate agencies below, should SellBidandBuy not be able to resolve your issues. Report Online Auction Fraud website – http://www.police.qld.gov.au/programs/crimePrevention/eCrime/internet/report/ If you have not gotten any response to your emails, or to your Messages left for the Buyer via the Message Board, you have the following options:
The Buyer has a 5 days period to pay for the winning auction, unless Buyer and Seller had alternative agreement. If, after the 5 days, you are still unable to resolve the problem, leave the Buyer negative feedback, and contact us directly about it.
We employ a 3 negative feedback policy. If any user reaches 3 strikes, he/she is banned from further use of the SellBidandBuy Auctions. The following are the steps to setup your account to accept payments through Paypal:
- login to your account
- select Member area
- select My account
- select Manage Account
- Check Paypal Address Override
- Input all your information
- under Direct Payment Settings input your paypal email address.
Your buyers will now be able to pay you directly through a Paypal pay now button on the SellBidandBuy site. This must be completed before listing items, and you must select Paypal direct pay for each auction for this to work. You can have up to 6 photos in an Auction or Classified listing. The first photo is free, and there is one flat fee for all additional photos.
Yes you can! When you post your item for sale, you only need to select the [enable auto relist] option; also specify how many times you want your item to be relisted automatically by entering the number in [Number of Auto Relists] text box. (This option is Free).  If you have failed to select the option at the time of listing, you can edit the item and add it, or, once logged into the Members Area, click on the Selling link. From here, all of your listings will be displayed. Simply click the relist link of the item of your choice, and it will be automatically updated! Feedback is an important thing to Sellers and Buyers. Without feedback, Sellers may miss the opportunity on many sales. Many buyers wont buy from a Seller not knowing about their integrity, and Feedback is the Seller's permanent reputation as a SellBidandBuy member. If a Seller is new to a site and Buyers cannot assess their reliability and integrity, it may be a tough road for them and their sales.
Don't miss the oprtunity to leave your feedback for a sale or a buy! Your feedback is valuable. Unlike other sites, ALL feedback placed counts towards your total rating. So if you trade with the same person a number of times, all ratings are used, not only the first one. |
